INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC ACTIVITY



 In 2014 foreign trade transactions were realized by 860 Altai registered foreign trade operators (entities and sole traders).




In 2014 foreign trade transactions were realized with 85 far and near abroad countries (comparing with 82 countries in 2013). The share of the far abroad countries in the terms of cost volume of export amounted to 75,4%, CIS countries (without taking into account the mutual trade with the Customs Union member countries)– 24,6% ((in 2013 – 70,4% and  29,6% respectively).
Trade turnover with the far abroad countries has increased by 6,7% and provided 588 million USD, trade turnover with the near abroad countries has decreased and provided 192,4 million USD.

Main trade partners in 2014: China (35,1% of total cost volume of trade turnover), Uzbekistan (11,2%), The USA (8,6%), Ukraine (4,3%), Germany (4%), Tajikistan (3,3%), Afghanistan  (3,2%), Kyrgyzstan (2,9%), Mongolia (2,7 %) and Latvia (2,3%).

Comparing with 2013 the cost volume of trade turnover has increased with trade partners from China, Uzbekistan, the USA and decreased with Ukraine (in 2 times), Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Germany, Kyrgyzstan.







 Export


In 2014 Altai region exported 445,4 million USD in goods.  Physical volume of export sales increased by 173,2 thous. tones (17,9%) and comprised  1141,5 thous. tones. Altai goods were exported to 65 far and near abroad countries (in 2013 – to 64 countries).  Cost volume of goods deliveries to far abroad countries reduced by 4,7% and comprised  272,2 million USD (61,1% from total export cost volume), physical volume of export sales comprised 608,5 thous. tones  (57,6% from total export volume) and it increased comparing to 2013 by 9 %.

Export to CIS countries (without taking into account the mutual trade with the Customs Union member countries) increased in terms of cost volume by 0,3% and in physical volume of export sales it increased by 29,9% and comprised 173,3 million USD (38,9 % from total export cost volume) and 533 thous. tones (42% from total export volume) respectively.




Export commodity structure in 2014



In the export commodity structure in comparison with 2013 exports of boilers, equipment, labour-saving device and tools reduced by 18,1%;  Mineral commodity, oil products by 16,6%, flour-and-cereals production by 16,15; pharmaceutical products, velvet antlers by 12,5%. 
Export of cereals increased in 4,7 times; phytogenic / zoogenic  fats and oils by 45.1%, salt, sulfur by 15,6%, wood by 7,5%.  
The largest exporting companies in Altai region are LLC “Agrosib-razdolie”, OJSC  " Kuchuksulphate " , OJSC  « Altai-Koks », ZAO " Transservice-South ", OJSC « Altai Tyre Plant ».
 
In 2014 total foreign trade of Altai region  (without taking into account the mutual trade with the Customs Union member) is comparable with sales volumes of the last year. Physical volume of export sales increased by 17,9%.
The volume of Altai foreign trade with near abroad countries has increased comparing with 2013.  Cost volume of exported goods to far abroad countries reduced but physical volume of export sales increased. 
The leading trade partners of Altai region are China, Uzbekistan, the USA, Ukraine, Germany, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Latvia. The total share of these countries in the terms of cost volume of export amounted 77,5%
